Clara Marie Bishop, 61, of Hiltons, VA, went to be with the Lord, Jesus Christ, Wednesday, September 28, 2011. Born April 28, 1950 in Hiltons, VA., she was of the Apostolic Holiness faith. Clara loved the Lord and enjoyed serving Him. She is in her heavenly home and will be greatly missed.

Clara is preceded in death by her parents, Marie and I.J. Ketron; sister, Hazel Dykes; brother, Johnny Ketron; and nephews, Jeff Dykes and Johnny Michael Nelson.

She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Rev. Gerald Bishop of the home; sons, Kenny Carter and wife Renae, Jimmy Hicks and wife Angel, Dewayne Bishop and girlfriend Kathy, Jason Bishop and wife Tiffany, and Mark Gilliam; grandchildren, Mitchell, Makenzie and Marshall Carter, Faith and Hayley Hicks, and Braydon, Kayla and Austin Bishop; sisters, Judy Hutchins and husband Jim and Carolyn Nelson and husband Mike; brothers, Raymond Ketron, Hobert Ketron and wife Felisha, Joe Ketron and wife Betty, James Ketron and wife Melissa and Josh Ketron and wife Laura; several nieces and nephews; and special friends Jean Qualls and Clara Smith.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 1, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Bethel Apostolic Church in Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Chris Fields and Evangelist Larry McAmis officiating.

Graveside services will follow at the Ketron Private Cemetery in Hiltons, VA. Family will serve as pallbearers.
