Clara Dot Bostic, 89, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 20, 2010, at Brookhaven Health Care. Dot was the daughter of the late Samuel and Sallie Richards and grew up in the West View area of Kingsport. She had retired from Tennessee Eastman and attended The Holiness Church. Dot enjoyed taking cruises and watching the ocean. She enjoyed reading and watching and feeding her "critters" at home.
Dot was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Bostic, and daughter, Eula Dalton.
She is survived by two grandsons, Perry Dalton and wife Karla of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Kenneth Dalton and wife Carolyn of Bristol, TN; great-grandson, Austin-Monroe Dalton of Myrtle Beach, SC; son-in-law, Glenn Dalton of Bristol, TN; brothers, Burl Richards of Kingsport and J.B. Richards of Dublin, VA; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 p.m. with Bishop Hagan Webb officiating.
Burial will be on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
