Clara "Dom" Carson, 76, of Kingsport went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at her residence following a brief illness.
Born in Sullivan County, TN, on June 5, 1938, a daughter of the late Byrl and Bessie Murray, she had resided in this area most of her life.
Dom was the former owner and operator of Murray's Trading Post in Weber City.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Dom is survived by her daughter, Lynn Orrick and husband, Allen of Kingsport; one grandson, Dustin Allen Orrick; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers (nieces) Tina Murray and Tammy Sparks.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 pm on Friday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The service will follow at 7 pm with Pastor Lelbert Thornburg officiating.
The graveside service will be at 1 pm on Saturday at Bethany Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Those wishing may make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
