Clara Belle Lane Crawford, 71, of Church Hill and formerly of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Thursday, January 17, 2008, following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was a resident of Kingsport all her life and retired from I.T.T. in Gray as a technician. Clara attended Faith Primitive Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Verlin Crawford; a daughter, Sheila Ann Crawford; her father, Thomas Lane; her mother, Mattie Lane; a brother, Jessie Lane; and two sisters, Arlene Tomlinson and Frances Onell Lane.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Brent and Crystal Crawford, Church Hill; four stepsons, Larry Crawford of Kingsport, Billy Crawford of Nashville, Jerry Crawford and Jim Crawford, both of Kingsport; one stepdaughter, Kathy Strange, Kingsport; one sister, Elsie Leach of Ohio; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Ralph and Thelma Lane of Gate City, Ronald Lane of Kingsport, E. J. and Shirley Lane of North Carolina; a very special friend, Louise Arnold; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport and any time at the home of her son at 230 Silver Lake Road, F-10, Church Hill.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Jerry Musick officiating. Interment will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park.
Clara's family would like to extend a special thanks to Wellmont Hospice especially Kristina and Josie for their special loving care.
