Clara Duncan Ward

Clara Duncan Ward, 84, of Fall Branch, TN, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Holston Valley Medical Center. Clara was born March 17, 1934, to the late John and Grace Duncan. A lifelong resident of Fall Branch, Clara was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fall Branch. Clara retired from the United States Postal Service. She enjoyed her and Don's trips to Dollywood, Panama City, and the Great Smoky Mountains. Most of all, Clara enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren who were her world. Clara always had a story to tell and pictures to show to anyone she knew (and probably to many people she didn't!).

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Don Ward; six brothers, Scott, Kermit, Kenneth, Clifford, Howard, Haskell (Cobb); and three sisters, Helen, Irene, and Lois.

Clara is survived by her daughter, Donna (Kenny) Baines; son, Tony (Christy) Ward; grandsons, Brad (Jana) Baines, Ben and Henry Ward; and great granddaughter, Kyle Baines; along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at Hamlett-Dobson, Fall Branch. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Victor Wallace and Pastor Shawn Cutshall officiating.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at First Baptist Church of Fall Branch Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fall Branch Fire Department, 106 Ruritan Rd, Fall Branch, TN 37656, or First Baptist Church of Fall Branch Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 82, Fall Branch, TN 37656.

The family would to thank the precious nurses from 3rd floor ICU, the nurses and staff of Wilcox Hall and Hospice for the great and loving care they provided while at HVMC.
