Clara Joy Hall, 79, passed away on Nov. 26, 2011 at Wexford House in Kingsport, TN. She was welcomed home by her parents, Minnie L. Hall and James Arthur Hall, her sister, Sadie H. Harris, and her brother, James E. Hall. She will be greatly missed by her nieces, Deborah Winebarger Clasen John, Kingsport, TN, Donna Winebarger Cole Lonnie, Kingsport, TN, Seri Moore Smith Raymond, Gas City, IN, and Cinda Moore Wales BrentDecatur, AL. , and many grand nieces and nephews. Also surviving are her sister-in-law, Dorothy Hall, Loyall, KY and a host of cousins, friends, and fellow Belk employees whom she loved dearly.
Clara was born on Dec. 1, 1931 in Coalgood, KY, where she lived until moving to Harlan in 1955. She attended Hall High School.She worked at Belks Simpson Company for 37 years, retiring in 1992 as office manager.She later moved to Kingsport, TN, to be near her nieces. Clara was a faithful member of Harlan Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 3, 2011 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home in Harlan.
Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral with the Rev. Catherine Clasen Askew, of Northumberland, England, officiating. Graveside services will follow at Resthaven Cemetery.
