Clarence Collins, 87, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 8, 2013 at his residence, following a long illness.
Born in Dungannon, Virginia on February 28, 1925 a son of the late, Horton and Lizzie Gibson Collins, he lived in this area his entire life.
Clarence was of the Pentecostal faith.
He will be remembered as a loving husband, dad, papaw, brother and friend. Clarence loved to ginseng hunt and fish.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Amylyn Crawford and all his home health care providers.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Rosie Duckworth; four brothers, Garland Collins, John Henry Collins, Ed Collins and Bill Collins; a daughter, Loretta Isley; and stepson, Danny Collins.
Clarence is survived by his wife of 34 years, Ella Collins; daughters, Joyce Wells, Mary Hass, and Vanessa Collins, all of Kingsport; special daughter-in-law, Debbie Collins of Kingsport; sons, Roger Stapleton, Allyn Hood, Randy Collins, all of Kingsport, Tommy Collins of Mt. Carmel, and Jerry Collins of Kingsport; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, James Collins and Larry Collins, both of Kingsport; many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Paula Long of Kingsport.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Services and music will be provided by the Collins family.
Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be sons and grandsons, Tommy Collins, Jerry Collins, Josh Collins, Vic Fleming, Cory Collins, Toby Collins, Danny Taylor, Jack Wells, and Jeff Wells.
The family will receive friends following the services at Clarence's residence.
