Clarence Leneir Holland

Clarence Leneir Holland, 78, of Kingsport, passed away Friday, March 28, 2008, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

A native of Greene County, he lived most of his life in Kingsport. Clarence graduated from Chuckey High School in 1948 and moved to Michigan to live for a short period of time. After marrying his high school sweetheart, they lived in Michigan and then returned to East Tennessee
where they made their home for the remainder of their marriage.

Clarence was a member of the Michigan and Tennessee National Guards and retired from Pet/Land O Sun Dairies after 34 years of service. He was of the Methodist faith most of his life and was saved Easter Sunday 2004.

Preceding him in death were his wife of 48 years, Wilma Milburn Holland; his parents, Vivian Reynolds Holland and Freddie Guy Holland; his stepfather, Ira Holland; brother, Joe C. Holland; and brothers-in-law, Bill Weems and Paul "Buck" Milburn.

Surviving are two daughters, Jan Roberts and husband, George "Ronnie" of Kingsport, Shaune Eberhart and husband Jerry of Johnson City; one son, Gary M. Holland of Kingsport; five grandchildren, Brandi Castillo and husband Chuck, Jessica Holland, Erin Eberhart, Emily Eberhart and fiancé Russell Sikora, Rhonda "Michelle" Peters and husband Glen; six great-grandchildren, Mikaylah, Morgan, Marin, Michael, Chandler, and Corey; three sisters, Helen Weems of Michigan, Joyce Arnold of Gray, Imogene Cox of Lenoir City, TN; a brother, Wayne Holland and wife Charlotte of Rutledge, TN and Glen Watts and his wife Charlotte; two sisters-in-law, Wynona Holland of Elizabethton, Ruth "Jack" Milburn of Chuckey; and several nieces and nephews.

Clarence's family wishes to thank The Place of Kingsport staff and the residents for their care and friendship, especially Barbara and Clenita for spoiling him, Dr. J. Michael Bookout and staff for their care over years, and the Church Hill Life Care Center for your kindness during his brief stay there.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Craig Needham officiating.

Graveside services will e conducted at 12 Noon Monday at Milburnton United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary Holland, Jerry Eberhart, Ronnie Roberts, Chuck Castillo, Glen Peters, and Russell Sikora.
