Claude R. Myers

Claude R. Myers, 90, Kingsport, passed away Wednesday evening, May 16, 2018, at his home after a brief illness. Claude was born in Sullivan County and had lived here his entire life. He was a carpenter, having worked throughout this area. Claude was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Pacific during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Pope Myers; son, Roger Myers; and sons-in-law, Jerry Davis and Craig Christian.

Claude is survived by son, Kyle Myers and wife, Jennifer of Blountville; 2 daughters, Mrs. Linda Davis Overbay and husband, Mark of Kingsport, and Mrs. Aundrea Christian of Church Hill; daughter-in-law, Sandy Myers of Blountville; grandchildren, Ashley, Heather (Brian), Brent (Sheri), Kayla (Logan), Jordan and Jamie; great-grandchildren, Gunner and Blake; 2 sisters, Bonnie Greear and Navada Haws; brother, J.D. Myers; and several nieces, nephews; brothers and sisters-in-law.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm with Rev. Lewis Kiser officiating. Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery with Military Rites will be conducted by American Legion Posts 3/265.
