Clayton Edward Fletcher, 34, of Kingsport, died June 10, 2010 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center due to a lingering illness.
He was born and raised in Kingsport, attended Dobyns-Bennett High School, and had been employed with RUS Uniforms as a route salesman. Clayton enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, and UT football.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Thelma "Poodle" Fletcher; paternal grandparents, Beatrice and Clifford Fletcher; maternal grandmother, Christine King; and an uncle, Richard Fletcher.
He is survived by a son, Shadrick Fletcher, of Kingsport; sister, April Quillen and husband, Richard, also of Kingsport; maternal grandfather, B. W. King, of Kingsport; aunt, Naomi Duncan; uncles, Gary Fletcher and wife, Edna, Luke King and wife, Kathy, Billie King and wife, Ann, and Wayne King; several cousins; and several special friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Services will be conducted on Monday at 12 noon at the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Raymond Hammonds officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Bays, Harold Larkins, Jamie Garland, Jeffery Lane, Corey Lane, and Alvin Blakley. Honorary pallbearers are Sam Quillen, Gary Fletcher, and Richard Quillen.
