Clifford Allen McCowan, 63, Kingsport, passed away Sunday November 25, 2007 at Hospice House in Bristol.
He was born in Wakenva, VA.
Mr. McCowan was a retired coal miner after 23 years of service with the Lambert Coal Company.
Clifford was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Gladys Minton McCowan.
Surviving are his wife, Vivian Ann McCowan; daughters, Teresa Lynn Cannon and husband, Eddie, and Michelle Leigh Bishop and husband, Chris; son, Randy Allen McCowan and wife, Ginger, grandchildren, Jay ?Jaybird? Templeton, Nicky Lynn McCowan, and Cody Allen McCowan; sister, Ada Juanita Holbrook; brother, Corbett McCowan and wife, Janice, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will be at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. Tommy Austin officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Church Hill Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Jay Templeton, Randy McCowan, Tony Stapleton, Tommy Stapleton, Gary McConnell, Jay Guidry, Eric ?Stevie? McCowan, Craig Taylor, and Jeff Martin.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the Hospice House Bristol nurses and volunteers.
