Clifford Cliff Patten, 49, of Kingsport, passed away at his residence after an extended illness.
He was born May 5, 1963, and was the son of Gordon and Sue Armstrong of Middleburg, FL and Groveton, NH. He was of the Baptist faith. Cliff enjoyed karate as well as being a black belt instructor, golfing, and spending time with his sons. He was a member of Warriors Path Fire Department of Kingsport, TN. Cliff attended Milford, NH and Sarasota FL schools. He was a member of the U.S. Marine Corps. Cliff moved to Greenville, SC as a manager of McDonalds and later moved to Groveton, where he became a CNA in health care. He moved to Tennessee, where he worked at Delta Air Lines, at Tri-Cities Regional Airport. Later he went into food service and loss prevention services.
Cliff was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents and four infant sisters and brothers.
Survivors include twin daughters, Heather D. Suit and Holli N. Manuel of Ocala, FL; sons, Adam K. Patten and wife, Brittany, with the U.S. Marine Corps and Aaron A. Patten and wife, Myra, of Johnson City; mother of his sons, Tonya Patten; additional sons include, David A., Joshua L. and Alex M. Suit; parents, Gordon and Sue Armstrong; sisters, Sarah Stermer and husband, Chris, of Seminole, FL, Terri Charron and husband, Reggie, of Groveton, NH; brother, Bill Patten of Berlin, NH; grandchildren, Nevaehlynn Patten and Neighana, Dominique Goodyear and Hunter Suit, of Johnson City, TN; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Memorial services will be Wednesday, November 28, at 3:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport with Rev. Andy Sensabaugh officiating.
