Clyde E. Duncan, 82, of Kingsport, went to his heavenly home on Monday, February 11, 2013, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Clyde was a loving husband, daddy and papaw. He never met a stranger. Clyde loved and was good to everyone he met. He was a member of Lynn Garden Baptist Church. Clyde retired after 44 years of service from Mead Corporation.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Mae Duncan; and brother, James Duncan.

Clyde is survived by his wife of 58 years, Peggy Duncan, of Kingsport; children, Kathy King and husband, Kevin, Larry Musselman and wife, Jo Ann, Gary Musselman and wife, Barbara, and Steve Duncan, all of Kingsport; grandchildren, Leann Reed and husband, Jon, Kristy James, Carrie Musselman, Matthew Musselman, Justin King, Jacob King and wife, Crystal, and Jared King; great-grandchildren, Dalton James, Gage Black, Alex Black, Austin Reed, Isaac Reed, Jake King and Lane Reed; sister-in-law, Nellie Duncan, of Surgoinsville; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends and neighbors.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Musselman, Justin King, Jacob King, Jared King, Dalton James and Brandon Harkleroad.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 13, from 5-7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. The family will also receive friends any time at the home. Funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, February 13 at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Carl Strickler and Pastor Jon Reed officiating.

Interment will be Thursday, February 14 at 11:00 a.m. at Church Hill Memory Gardens. Anyone wishing to attend graveside services are asked to meet at the cemetery.

The family would like to express special thanks to Wellmont Hospice and the staff and nurses at Holston Valley who cared for him during his illness.
