Clyde R. Jennings, Jr., 47, of Church Hill, went to be with the Lord and his son, C. J., Sunday morning, September 7, 2008 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after suffering a heart attack earlier in the week.
He was born in Kingsport and was a graduate of Lynn View High School Class of '79. Clyde was owner and operator of Clyde Jennings Construction, Inc. and was a member of Grange Hall United Methodist Church. He loved his family, friends, and farming.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Clyde and Ruth Jennings; and a son, C. J. Jennings.
Surviving are his wife, Jean Jennings of the home; one daughter, Beth Jennings of the home; one son, Matt Jennings of the home; and many special friends and family.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport, and any time at the home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Grange Hall United Methodist Church with Rev. Calvin Tabor and Rev. Deborah Collins officiating. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to services.
Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Terry Morelock, Ethan Calhoun, Mike Grubbs, Martin Bagwell, Larry Gibbons, Jake Trent, Dustin Fugate, and Will Alley. Honorary pallbearers will be family members and friends.
