Clyde B. Morelock, 73, of Kingsport, left the loving arms of his wife Lora to be received into the loving arms of Jesus at 3 a.m. Thursday, February 7, 2013.
He was born February 4, 1940 in the Beech Creek Community of Hawkins County. He retired after 28 ½ years with Holston Defense Corporation and also owned Morelock Repairs.
Clyde was a member of Mt. Carmel Freewill Baptist Church. He was a Golden Eagle of the NRA and a former member of the Sullivan County Reserve Deputies.
Clyde loved nothing more than the solitude of nature and he was a loving husband, father, and papaw.
He was preceded in death by his son, Terry Lynn Morelock; parents, Hughie and Margie Morelock; brothers, W. C. Morelock and Melvin B. Morelock; sisters, Lucille Morelock and Ola Crawford; and one nephew, Tex Randal Morelock.
Clyde is survived by his loving wife, Lora Morelock; loving daughter, Beverly Bear and husband Ricky of Kingsport; daughter-in-law, Betty J. Morelock of Kingsport; two special granddaughters, Tabitha Lynn Morelock and Tiffany Lynn Morelock of Kingsport; one sister, Dot Blankenbecler of Kingsport; two brothers, B. Glen Morelock and wife Dorothy of Kingsport and Steve W. Morelock of Rogersville; sister-in-law, Pauline Morelock; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give thanks to Amedisys Hospice, especially Sandra Nadieu, Chris, Kayla, and Ben and a special thanks to Ed and Brenda Brown, Stella Bear and Sharon Edwards for their love and devotion to Clyde and his family.
Calling hours are Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Carmel Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. B. Glen Morelock and Rev. Jack Morelock officiating.
Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Light, Fred Bernard, Greg Bernard, Jamie Pafford, Andrew Morelock, and Mark Whetsel.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ed Brown and the Men's Sunday School Class of Mt. Carmel Freewill Baptist Church.
