Connie Blakely Pendleton, 91, of Double Springs Community died Saturday afternoon, December 11, 2010 at home following an extended illness. She was born in Greene County and lived in Double Springs Community for most of her life. She was a seamstress retiring in the early 90's from J.C. Penney. Connie was a member of Mill Creek Missionary Baptist Church. She was a member of the Washington Chapter #57 Order of the Eastern Star of Fall Branch.
Connie was preceded in death by her first husband, Beryl Blakely, Sr.; second husband, Robert Pendleton; sisters, Alice Gaby, Iva Winkle, Roxie Duncan; and brother, Oliver Heck.
Survivors include: her daughter, Angela Bevins and husband, Michael of Charleston, SC.; son, Beryl L. Blakley and wife, Stephanie of Kingsport, TN.; granddaughter, Rebekah Bevins of Charleston, SC.; four sisters, Irene McGinnis of Knoxville, TN., Wanda Woods and husband, Harrison of Greeneville, TN., Maxine Roberts of Baileyton, TN., Dollie Sexton and husband, John of Rogersville, TN.; brother-in-law, J.B. Winkle of Rogersville, TN.; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. The service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. James Mullins officiating. Graveside services will follow at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens.
