Constance Lee "Connie" Wright Stone

Constance Lee “Connie” Wright Stone, 90, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 31, 2024, at The Waters of Kingsport. Connie was born to the late H.G. and Cora Edith Wright on May 30, 1933, in Tuscaloosa, AL. She attended The University of Alabama through earned scholarships. Connie worked part time while studying full time. She received her bachelor’s degree in business administration and would go on to work as a secretary at Tennessee Eastman Company. After her daughter was born, she became a homemaker, but would go back to work in 1975 as a Secretary at Waverly Rd. Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Junior League and at one time a Girl Scout Leader. Connie enjoyed volunteering her time at the food pantry at First Broad Street United Methodist Church with her husband. She was a loved and celebrated member of her community who will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, H.G. and Cora Edith Wright.

Connie is survived by her husband of 68 years, Albert Stone; daughter, Nancy Hammer (Fred); grandchildren, Charlie Hammer (Ashley) and Sarah Foster (Jonathan); great-grandchildren, Ian Hammer and Riley Hammer; and special friends, Sarah Smith and Jane Boyd.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Oak Hill Memorial Park. 

A memorial service will be at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at First Broad Street United Methodist Church with Dr. Randy Frye, Dr. Carole Martin, and Rev. Jack Weikel officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the Fellowship Hall.
