Cora Elston, 96, of Kingsport, formerly of Olivehurst, California, died Wednesday morning at Indian Path Medical Center.
Born in Wagnor County, Oklahoma, she moved to California in 1943 and has resided in Kingsport since 2007. Cora was a homemaker and was known for her great cooking and hospitality and a warm, loving heart. She was a member of Church of God of Prophesy in Roseburg, Oregon.
Cora was preceded in death by her husband, Conner James Elston; infant daughter, Orpha Delores; three sisters; and four brothers.
She is survived by her daughters, Velda Rice of Roseburg, OR, Evelene Clair of Trenton, AL, and Inez Sydebothom of Kingsport; son, Kelley Elston of Roseburg, OR; thirteen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A "Celebration of Life" service will be held at First Assembly of God on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. and will be officiated by Rev. Wyndell Sydebothom.
