Cora T. Murray

Cora T. Murray, 71, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 22, 2014. Cora was born in Lee County but had resided most of her life in Kingsport. She spent most of her time taking care of family. She was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church and loved to spend time with her church family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bascom Harless and Justine Inez Harless; daughter, Robin Roxanne Murray; two sisters, Bertha Helton and Allie Neal; and special nephew, Jody Roberts.

Cora is survived by her husband, Grover Murray of Kingsport; two daughters, Bridgett Franklin and husband, Johnny of Kingsport, and Tammy Baker and husband, Jeff of Kingsport; son, Scotty Murray and wife, Margaret of Kingsport; eight grandchildren, Pamela Turberville and husband, Derek, Denny Christian, Jamie Hicks and wife, Rachel, Tara Hicks and Chris Ledaux, Andrew Murray and wife, Courtney, Emma Murray, Michael Baker and Robert Baker; ten great-grandchildren, Jordan, Shawna, Zoe, Danny, Christian, Alyson, Destiny, Danielle, Hillary and D'Metrius; three sisters, Alpha Spears of Lee County, Rita Bartman and husband, Tim of Delaware, and Patty Newton and husband, Ricky of NC; three brothers, Orville Harless and wife, Wanda of Lee County, T.J. Harless and wife, Judy of Lee County, and Gary Harless and wife, LulaMae of Lee County; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport and anytime at the home of her son, Scotty at 114 Rosemont St., Kingsport . Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Jim Mullins officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted on Sunday at 2:00 pm at Mullins Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Murray, Jeff Baker, Rick Bragg, Denny Christian, Jamie Hicks and Derek Turberville.
