Cornelia Elizabeth Keys Wallace

Cornelia Elizabeth Keys Wallace, 74, of Jonesborough, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2015 at Wellmont Hospice House in Bristol. She was born in Washington County, TN and lived in the area most of her life. Elizabeth graduated from Sulphur Springs High School in 1959 and worked for the Loan Exchange and Cherokee Finance in Kingsport as well as the Credit Bureau of Johnson City. She later became a homemaker and a daycare provider for many children over the years. Elizabeth attended the Kingsport Church of Christ.

Elizabeth was a loving, compassionate wife of 54 years to her adoring husband and a devoted mother to her two children. Her proudest accomplishment was the relationship she shared with her granddaughters. She liked to cook and sew for the family and also enjoyed reading and spending time with family and friends. Her very special friends that brought her great joy included Linda Watson, Nancy Tester and Lynda Wexler. The family would like to thank these wonderful ladies for all of their love and support.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jay Fred Keys and Ruth Landreth Keys, and her brother-in-law, John Stidham.

Survivors include her husband, Robert (Bob) L. Wallace; daughter, Deborah Lynne Wallace-Smith and husband, Brian of Kernersville, NC; son, Rusty Wallace and wife, Michelle of Blountville, TN; and 3 beautiful grandchildren, Jessica Hands, Samantha Wallace and Taylor Wallace. She is also survived by 5 brothers and sisters, Diana Stidham, David Keys and wife, Janice, Freda Banks, Connie Batchelor and husband, Cecil, and Jerry Keys and wife, Susie; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 2, 2015 from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Tom Kinzell, Minister and Phillip Mullins, Minister, of Washington, D.C. officiating.

A graveside service will be conducted on Friday, July 3, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at East Tennessee Cemetery, formerly Tri-Cities Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Rusty Wallace, Brian Smith, Luke Hands, Ben Bailey, Jeramie Keys and Bill Watson.

Elizabeth befriended every person she met in life, and she will be missed by all!!
