Cuba Hensley Watson Carberry, Jonesborough, TN, passed Thursday, September 9, 2010. Cuba was born July 12, 1915, in Hawkins County, TN. Mrs. Carberry lived in the Oak Hill Community for the last 63 years and was employed at the Magnavox factory in Greeneville, TN, for more than 25 years before her retirement. Cuba was of the Christian faith.
She was a daughter of the late Henry and Roxie Hensley. In addition to her parents, Cuba was preceded in death by husbands, Gurvis H. Watson and Orville Lee Carberry; daughters, Jan Hope Watson and baby Gwendolyn Jean Watson; sisters, Waynia Ward, Ruba Roark, Juanda Endsley, Peggy Carlin; and brother, Rex Hensley.
Cuba is survived by son, Henry "Buck" Watson and spouse Shirley; daughter, Denna Lyons and spouse Kyle; grandsons and spouses, Chris and Leslie Watson, Curtis and Lisa Lyons; granddaughters and spouses, Cathy and Mark Nester, Beckie and John Marchell, Jennifer and Christian Pagnard; great-grandchildren, Laura Norman, Ashley Hoilman, Megan Nester, Matthew Watson, Audrey Lyons; sisters, Jacqueline Helzer and Joyce Holding; three great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. Cuba is also survived by son-in-law, Tom Stanawitz; and step-sons, Freddie Carberry and Jimmy Carberry and their families.

The family will receive friends 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the Fall Branch Chapel of Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, 1747 Highway 93, Fall Branch, TN 37656. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the Fall Branch Chapel with Reverend Victor Wallace officiating.
Interment will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Dixon Chapel Cemetery in Greene County, TN. Family and friends are requested to meet at the cemetery for the service.
