D J Riner, Jr., 56, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Saturday December 27, 2008 at his home following a lengthy illness.
He was a dedicated employee of Eastman for 35 years. DJ served in the U.S. Army Reserves.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, DJ and Nell Riner; and sister, Debbie.
Surviving are his wife, June Riner, Kingsport; son, Tim Riner and wife, Amie, Kingsport; daughter, Tonya Martin and husband, Fred, Kingsport; grandchildren, Alexandria Upchurch, Victoria Riner, Brooke Riner, and Mirenda Riner; sister, Judy Scanlan, Kingsport; several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and great-nephews; a very special mother-in-law, Ollie Bledsoe; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will be at 8:00 p.m. with Brother James Cassell officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post #3/265.
Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
