Dallas ?Joe? Henry, 70, of Kingsport, went to be with Jesus in his heavenly home on Saturday, January 13, 2007 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after a lengthy illness with family friends at his side.
Joe was a loving dad and raised a strong family who loved him dearly. He worked as a caretaker for a local church. He enjoyed his family, fishing and most of his life?s work was living for the Lord.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Judy Henry; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jennie and Chris Mowdy, Church Hill, JoAnne and David King, Kingsport; one son, Jamie Henry and fiancée, Misty Jones, Kingsport; grandkids, Brandon Anthony Lane Sr. and wife, Stacy, Kaleb, Britteny, Sara, Johnathan, and Rachael; great-grandchildren, Brandon Jr., Marcie, Autumn, and Kellie; sisters, Helen Phillips, Madeline Eades, and Mildred Farmer; brothers, William Junior Henry, Carson Eugene Henry, Elyon Henry, and William K. Henry, all of Kingsport; several nieces and nephews; and friend of the family, Mandy Bishop.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. Fred Greer and Rev. Cecil Necessary officiating.
Burial will follow at Old Kingsport Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Henry, David King, Chris Mowdy, Brandon Lane, Tony Nelson, and Tony Lane.
