Dallas F. Wagner

Dallas F. Wagner, 64, of Kingsport, left his earthly body for his Heavenly home April 27, 2019, after a brief battle with esophageal cancer. He passed peacefully at home with family and friends.

Dallas was born in Kingsport to the late Johnny “Shorty” Wagner and Beatrice Sandidge Wagner Dean.  He was also preceded in death by his special “brother” cousin Paul K. Sandidge.

Dallas grew up in Mt. Carmel, Tn. and graduated from Church Hill High School.  He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.  He graduated from the Bill Wampler Beauty School in 1976 and then began his 43 year career as a hairdresser in Kingsport.  Dallas enjoyed gardening, his “four-legged” children, boating and talking with folks anywhere he encountered acquaintances.  It was Dallas’ rearing and his Christ-like nature that guided him to help out a person in need whenever and wherever he saw the need.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 27 years, Cindy Ferguson Wagner; his “four-legged” children, Ricky & Lucy and Gray; his brother and sisters (spouses): Mike (Vickie) Wagner of Church Hill, TN, Sue (Paul) Bowman of Kingsport, TN, Jan (John) Hussey of Manning, SC, and Penny (David) Pelfrey of Soddy Daisy, TN.; his niece and nephews: Tonya Johnson, John Paul “JP” Wagner, Josh Woods; his “sister” cousin Connie Williams;  his “inherited” daughter Krystal Tignor (Bryan) and “inherited” grandson Devin Tignor; mother-in-law Lenora Ferguson; and many friends and clients.

He attended First Broad Street United Methodist Church. He was a faithful participant with Halo Haircut Ministry at the church from its inception.

A celebration of life service will be held on May 18th at 2 pm at First Broad Street United Methodist Church in Kingsport with visitation and reception following the service.
