Dan Edward Franklin

Danny Franklin, 61, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, November 10, 2012, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. He was born in Maryville, TN and had resided most of his life in Kingsport. He had worked for Portland Utilities Construction and as a heavy equipment operator. He was a very outgoing and friendly man and will be missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Lula Franklin; sister, Marie Monk.

Danny is survived by his wife, Rhonda Johnson Franklin; three daughters, Shannon LeAnn Babb and husband, Junior, Carrie Sue Amyx and husband, Jeff, Edith Marie Vanzant and husband, Jonathan; two sons, Christopher Lee Franklin, Mark Anthony Johnson and wife, Lola Bee Johnson; eleven grandchildren, Devon Amyx, Harley Cowan, Caleb Baker, Jonathan Vanzant, Gage Vanzant, Jasmine Vanzant, Preston Franklin, Paige Franklin, Victoria Beavers, Breeaunna Beavers, Mark Anthony Johnson; sisters, Patricia Graham and husband, Walt, Carolyn Adams and husband, Tommy; brothers, Clifton Franklin and wife, Georgia, William Franklin and wife, Liz, Charlie Franklin and wife, Ann, Rex Franklin; brother-in-law, Gerald Monk; several nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, the Adams Family; and Sam Childress.

The family will receive friends Monday, November 12th from 7-9:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.

It was Danny's wish to be cremated.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the family to help with funeral expenses.
