Dan Andrew Livesay, 93, of Kingsport, was born April 13th, 1916, in Blackwater, VA, to Joe and Flora Livesay, moved to Kingsport in 1941, and died in Kingsport on June 7th, 2009. He worked and retired from J. P. Stevens. He was a deacon at a church in Kyle's Ford, TN, called the Big Door. He was loved by all who knew him. He always had a smile on his face. We know he has a big smile now with the Lord whom he loved with all his heart. He will surely be missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lillie; his sister Maggie; brothers, Fred and Lewis Livesay; and nephew, Junior Belcher.
He is survived by three daughters, Alma Faye Boggs and husband, Michael, of Johnson City; Mary Madeline Greer and husband John, of Kingsport; Dorothy Sue Crain and husband, Roger, of Johnson City; a son, David Andrew Livesay and wife, Pricilla, of Church Hill; and special second cousin Arnold Livesay, of Bull's Gap.
Services will be conducted on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport, with Pastor Steve Potter from Open Arms Church officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 1:00 until 2:00 before the service.
Following the service he will be laid to rest at East Lawn Memorial Park beside his loving wife and mother of his children.
Serving as pallbearers will be David Livesay, John Greer, Tony Foster, Chris, Eric, and T.J.
