Dana Olivine Poston Larkey, 95, of Orlando, Florida, died Thursday, August 25, 2011 in Orlando, Florida after an extended illness.
Born January 16, 1916 in Washington County, Virginia, Dana lived most of her adult life in Kingsport. She attended Mary Dalton Secretarial School and during World War II she worked for the U. S. Postal Service. Later she worked a few years at J & M Wholesale and retired in 1984 from Arcadia Graphics.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Elmer Larkey on January 23, 2000; her parents, The Rev. John Lee and Hattie Worley Poston; one brother, Paul Poston; and six sisters, Nadine Doak, Revonda Netherland, Lakie Boardwine, Bertha Noonkester, Velma Parker, and Loretta Barker.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence Alan and Linda Greer Larkey of Orlando, FL; two granddaughters, Lynn Paige Larkey of Birmingham, AL and Leah Beth Nuzzi of Dubai, UAE; one grandson, Lando Greer Larkey of Winter Springs, FL; two great-granddaughters, Victoria Lynn Nuzzi and Lena Grace Larkey; and two great-grandsons, Logan Greer Larkey and Nathaniel Scott Nuzzi.
Services were held at 7 p.m. Saturday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Oak Hill Memorial Park with Rev. Ray Amos Jr. officiating.
