Daney Ketron

Daney C. Ketron, 57, of Kingsport, died at 6:45 a.m. Sunday May 6, 2012. A life-long resident of Sullivan County, Daney was loved by all who knew him, and he loved to spend time with all of his grandchildren.

Daney was a born again Christian.

He enjoyed construction work and meeting people.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Sallie Ketron; sisters, Ivajean Gilreath and Thelma Johnson Ketron; and brothers, Gerald, Paul, Vernon, and Jerry Ketron.

Survivors include 3 sons, Travis Ketron and wife Elizabeth, Justin Ketron and wife Ginger, and Josh Ketrona€"all of Kingsport; 3 daughters, Amanda Lawson and husband David of Citranell, AL, Jessica Wright and friend Johnny Hartsock of Kingsport, and Alisha Vega and fiancé Armándo Vizuet of Nashville, TN; 14 grandchildren; 3 sisters Ruby Bell and husband, J.C., Rita Day and husband Leon, and Terry Childers; 4 brothers Bearl Ketron and wife Elsie, Robert Ketron, Jr., Sammy Ketron, David Ketron and wife Lisa; brother-in-law, Bill Gilreatha€"all of Kingsport; several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 - 8 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson in Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. with Brother Jackie McCracken officiating and special music by Mark and Lisa McCracken.

Graveside services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in Walnut Chapel Cemetery in Scott County, VA.

Pallbearers will be Travis Ketron, Josh Ketron, David McCracken, Sam Childers, Jr., Gilbert McNutt, Lyle Woods, and Keith McClellan. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Childers, Sammy Ketron, and Robert E. Ketron, Jr.
