He served as a director of Farm Bureau for 58 years, and also served a term as president and many years as Treasurer and was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award for Outstanding Farm Bureau member for the 5th District of the State of Tennessee.

He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother and will be missed by all who knew him. He was blessed with good health, good friends, a wonderful sense of humor, and willingness to help others.
