Danise Fletcher Brown, 88, died Thursday, February 26, 2009, at Wexford House following an extended period of declining health.
A native of Russell County, Virginia, she was the daughter of Stephen and Georgia Jessee Fletcher. Mrs. Brown was a 1938 graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School, was employed by Southern Railway System for nine years, and retired from Eastman Chemical Products Inc. after twenty-three years of service.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Brown Jr.; two sisters; and eight brothers.
Surviving are three nephews, Gary Fletcher, Steve Fletcher and wife Reneé, Bob Counts; three nieces, Karen Barbour and husband Billy, Barbara Rose and husband Alan, Dianne Bishop; and two sisters-in-law, Virginia Fletcher and Rosalyn Fletcher.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday at East Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. H. Rae Mullins officiating.
