Danny Neal Poore
Danny Neal Poore, 69, of Kingsport went to be with Jesus Monday, June 13, 2011 following a brief illness.
Born and raised in Fall Branch, he has lived in this area most of his life. He was a graduate of Fall Branch High School. Danny is a veteran of the US Army. Upon discharge from his military service, he went to work for Eastman-Kodak where he retired after 29 years. He then worked for 9 years as a mechanic at Ridgefields Country Club. Danny loved music and playing his guitar; he also loved to work in his garden and landscape. Danny was a well loved person who never had an enemy. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, and brother that will be sorely missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Abe and Melva Poore; and an infant brother.
Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Linda White Poore; one daughter, Lisa Poore, Kingsport; one son, David Poore and wife, Janelle, Blountville; two step-sons, Denver Shannon White, Kingsport, John T. White and wife, Kristy, Atlanta; seven grandchildren; and a very special sister, Mary Charlene Ross and husband, Warren of Kingsport.
The family will receive friends from 4-6 pm on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Emory United Methodist Church. The service will begin at 6 pm with Rev. Ray Amos, Jr. officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 1101 Northchase Parkway, Marietta, GA 30067.
