Danny "Harry" Williams

Danny Williams, 74, of the Indian Springs Community, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2024. Born in Kingsport, Danny grew up in Yuma, VA, and graduated from Gate City High School. He married his wife of 51 years, Kathy in 1973. Danny worked at the press for 37 years in the folding department. He was a simple man of few words, and a little sneaky. A family man at his core, Danny loved his children and grandchildren, who refer to him as Papaw, unconditionally.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James C. Williams and Edith Williams; brother, James C. Williams, Jr. and his wife Bobbie; and brother, David Williams.

Danny is survived by his wife of 51 years, Kathy Williams; children, Chris Williams (Jennifer), and Toni Chesser (Chad); grandchildren, Ashlyn, Addison, Alayna, Harper, and Berkley; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends, Wednesday, August 14, 2024 from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. at East Lawn Memorial Park.
