Darryl Ewing "Big Daddy" Quillen, 67, of Kingsport, went to be with his Father in heaven on Friday morning, March 13, 2009.
He served in the U. S. Army and retired from Tennessee Eastman Company. Darryl was a loving husband, father, papaw, son, brother, and friend to all who knew him. His hobbies included fishing, coaching Little League, and working on street rods.
Darryl was a member of Morrison City Christian Church.
His father, Ferris Quillen, preceded him in death in 2002.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Rae Smith Quillen of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Dave Fisher of Toney, AL; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Jill Quillen of Roanoke, VA; four grandchildren, Hannah, Daniel and Matthew Quillen, and Zachary Fisher; his mother, Eva Quillen of Kingsport; brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Christine Quillen of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will follow at 7:00 p.m. Sunday with Bob Underwood, Minister.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at East Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Layton Bentley officiating.
