David C. Cullison, Sr

David C. Cullison, Sr., passed away Saturday, July 31, 2010, at Indian Path Hospital.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA, he lived in Greeneville and Kingsport, TN, practically all of his life. David was a member of the Army Security Agency, and was stationed in Fort Dix, NJ, Camp Gordon, GA, and Bamberg, Germany. He graduated from Massanutten Military Police School in 1949, and from Tusculum College in 1953. He worked for the TN Department of Human Services for 30 years in Greeneville and Kingsport, and was a member of VFW Post 1990, Elks Lodge, and Lions Club, all in Greeneville. David was well-known as "The Goat Man". He was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse A. Cullison and Emily Orissa Lonabaugh Cullision; his wife, Rochella Cullison; Grandmother Gilroy; brothers, Jerry Cullison and Earl Cullison; and special aunt, Della Lonabaugh.

He is survived by his daughter, Debbie Frederick and husband, Raymond, of Knoxville; son, David Cullison, Jr., and wife Nancy, of Atlanta; step-son, Pete Wind and wife, Donna, Newbern, NC; grandchildren, Ashleigh Frederick, Samantha Henley and husband, Wes, both of Knoxville, Catriona Cullison, Atlanta, Peter Wind, and Danielle Wind, both of Newbern, NC; many nieces and nephews; special Greeneville family, and wonderful care givers, Patricia McRae and Trina Cox.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Graveside services will be conducted on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Andrew Johnson National Cemetery in Greeneville, TN, with Rev. Charles Echols officiating and with Military Rites by the Greene County Honor Guard.
