David Paul Dalton, 65, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord, unexpectedly, Friday, October 11, 2019 at his residence with his wife by his side. Born in Akron, Ohio on November 4, 1953, son of the late Cecil and Juanita Dalton, he has resided in this area since 1981. Mr. Dalton graduated from Northeast State Community College in 1993 with a degree in Emergency Medicine. He married Mary Brown on October 16, 1981 in Blountville, TN, and was an honorably discharged veteran in the US Army. He retired from Wings Air Rescue following 20 years of service as Flight Coordinator. He was an active member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church for 34 years and a Sunday School teacher. Mr. Dalton will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, dad, pawpaw, brother, and friend who loved spending time with his family and was a very good cook. He enjoyed hiking and camping and had been active in the Boy Scouts. David spent his entire life by sharing love and in service to others. His family will never be the same. He lived his faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Dalton and infant sister.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Mary Brown Dalton; sons, Zac Dalton and wife Autumn and their daughter, Avery, and Eric D. Dalton, Virginia Beach, VA.; Brothers, Eddie Dalton and wife Pat, Lenoir City, TN, Doug Dalton and wife Gail, Tellico Plains, TN, and Alan Dalton and wife Tina, Tellico Plains, TN; several nieces and nephews; and his dog, Petie.
A celebration of life will be conducted at 1:00pm on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Sherrel Nave officiating. The family will receive friends following the services.
