David G. Ford, 68, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Saturday June 21, 2008 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
Born in Harriman, TN, he had resided in Kingsport most of his life. David was a 1958 graduate of Lynn View High School and he attended ETSU. He had served in the U.S. Army and was an avid woodworker, photographer, and artist.
Mr. Ford was a member of Bloomingdale Baptist church.
David retired from Eastman in 1996 after 35 years of service in the Engineering Division.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J. E. and Irene Ford, Sr.
Surviving are his wife, Wilma Richards Ford, of the home; daughter, Kelli Easter Ford, of the home; sister, Mrs. Kenneth Carmen Richardson, Church Hill; brother, J. E. Ford, Jr., and wife, Irene, Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. A memorial services will be at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Joe W. Byrd and Pastor Travis Boling officiating.
