David E. "Dave" Gibson
David E. Gibson, 84, of Kingsport, died late Friday evening, November 11, 2011.
Born in St. Charles, VA, raised in Pennington Gap, VA, he had resided in Kingsport since 1952. He graduated from Emory & Henry College in 1952. Dave served in the U. S. Army during World War II.
Dave was employed with Frontier Health for a number of years. He was well respected by those who knew him.
He was preceded in death his parents, Henry Ernest and Bessie Gibson; his wife, Elizabeth Gilbert Gibson; son, David E. Gibson, Jr.; and brother, Robert C. Gibson.
Survivors include his son, Johnathan R. Gibson, Kingsport; and grandson, Johnathan David Gibson of Corpus Christi, TX.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will follow visitation with Dr. Ed Clevinger, Minister officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, VA.
