David Larkin

David Anthony ?Little Arch? Larkin, 51, Jonesborough, TN, was called home by the Lord Tuesday evening at his home.

He was born in Kingsport, grew up in Church Hill, and was a graduate of Church Hill High School Class of ?74. David was an employee of Eastman where he worked as a lab technician retiring after 33 years of service. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and was a Tennessee Colonel. David was a great entertainer of gospel and blue grass music and was one of the Larkin Brothers. He was a member of Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Archie and Eula Larkin; and a brother, John A. Larkin.

Surviving are his wife, Debbie Larkin of the home; one son, Shawn Reed Larkin, Owensboro, Kentucky; one grandson, Preston; three sisters, Margie Larkin Nelson, Church Hill, Connie Hamby, Johnson City, Wanda Butte and husband, Ernie, Gate City, VA; five brothers, Doug Larkin and wife, Betty, Church Hill, Terry Larkin and wife, Dawn, Kingsport, Ronnie Larkin and wife, Donna, Church Hill, Lowell Larkin and wife, Barbara, Church Hill, Jackie Larkin and wife, Linda, Irving, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Sharon Kimmel and husband, Jeff, Owensboro, KY, Jackie Englert and husband, Robbie, Paducah, KY; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jack and Norma Reed, Owensboro, KY; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will follow at 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Mark Wooten officiating.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Rose Hill Cemetery in Owensboro, Kentucky. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children?s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
