David Lynn Linkous, 59, of Kingsport-Bloomingdale Community, passed over to the gates of heaven surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, March 19, 2012. He was born on October 22, 1952 in Hawkins County, but resided in Kingsport. David was loved by many and was a hard-working family man. He owned and operated Dave's Cabinet Shop.
David was preceded in death by his parents, J.B. Linkous and Lorinna McPheron Linkous.
Survivors include his loving wife of 37 years, Bonnie Jean Powers Linkous; son, Sammy "Louie" Linkous and wife, Betsy of Kingsport, daughter, Peggie Linkous Helton and Donna Wilson of Maryville, TN, and son, James "Derik" Linkous and wife, Tina of Kingsport; grandchildren, Brandy Linkous Norris and husband, Jerrod, Hunter Helton, Kaci Jo Linkous, Walker Linkous, Darren Hicks and wife, Michelle, Chris Hicks and fiancée, Carrie; great-grandchildren, Shyanne Norris and Jaden Norris; sister, Madelyne Mauk and husband, Virgil of Surgoinsville; brothers, J.J. "Bud" Linkous and wife, Wanda of Mt. Carmel, Sam Linkous of Surgoinsville, Jerry Linkous and wife, Kathy of Surgoinsville, and Raymond Linkous and wife, Linda of Rogersville; several nieces and nephews; and special family friend, Bobby Stissel.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 20th, 2012 from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor Phil Whittemore officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted on Wednesday, March 21st, 2012 at 11:00 at Church Hill Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be family and friends
