David "Blunder" Nunley

David "Blunder" Nunley

David "Blunder" Nunley, 55, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Monday, June 6, 2011 at Indian Path Medical Center. He was born February 2, 1956 to Floyd and Dorothy Nunley and was a life long resident of the Bloomingdale Community. David was a member of Bloomingdale Baptist Church and was a veteran of the U. S. Army. David was an avid drag racer and owner of Blunder's Thunder Racing. He was a wonderful son, brother, uncle and friend, who was loved by all who knew him and will be missed by many. David was an inspiration to many.

David is preceded in death by his father, Floyd Nunley and his grandparents, Floyd and Ada Nunley and Sam and Ruby Quillen.

He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Quillen Nunley of Kingsport; sisters, Debbie Bledsoe of Kingsport, and Donna Stroud and husband George of Atlanta; twin brother, Darrell Nunley and wife Frankie of Kingsport; brothers, Dennis Nunley and wife Donna of Kingsport and Danny Nunley and wife Penny of Church Hill; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and special friend, Tina Rhoton.

The family will receive friends Tuesday June 7, 2011 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday June 8, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport chapel with Rev. Joe Byrd officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park with military honors provided by the American Legion Post 3/265.

Pallbearers will be George Stroud, Ron Qualls, Denny Garrison, Sam Quillen, Dustin Nunley, Steve Nunley, Doug Barnette, and Scott McCurray. Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Nunley, Phil "Rosebud" Williams and the Peacemakers Motorcycle Club.
