Dawn Hale Norwood, 41, Kingsport, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Thursday, February 9, 2012. She loved knitting, hiking, biking and canoeing and had a special fondness for children, the elderly and was a pet lover.
She was preceded in death by her father, John W. Hale; maternal grandparents, Homer and Grace Rose; paternal grandmother, Emma Jane Gilliam; step-grandfather, T.E. Gilliam; and paternal grandfather, Virgil Foley.
Dawn is survived by her husband, William Shaune Norwood; mother, Trudy Rose Hale Byron; step-father, Wayne E. Byron; sister, Zina Hale Chris, Port Arthur, Texas; step-sister, Lisa Farley Skip; step-brother, Wayne Byron, Jr.; aunts, Anna Rose Haley of Crescent City, Florida and Mary Alice Knapp Ray; father-in-law, Steve Norwood; mother-in-law, Susan Norwood and brother-in-law, Chris Norwood Candy all of Johnson City, Tennessee.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 15, from 6-8:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport and at anytime at the home of the mother. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 pm with Rev. Phil Whittemore officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted on Thursday, February 16th at 1:00 pm at East Lawn Memorial Park. Those wishing to go in procession to the cemetery should meet at Hamlett-Dobson at 12:15 pm.
