Dayton E. Brown, 76, of Kingsport, died Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after an apparent stroke.
Born in Greene County, he had resided in Kingsport most of his life. He was a 1957 graduate of Sullivan High School. Dayton retired from TEC in 1998 after 39 years of service as an electrician.
Dayton was a very active member of Kingsport Community Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Mary Jane Brown; four brothers, Lawrence, Cecil, Carl, and Dewey; and one sister, Opal Tunnell.
Surviving are his wife Faye Brown of the home; two sons, Todd Brown and Sabrina, and Heath Brown, all of Kingsport; one sister, Roxie Lee Tunnell of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Kingsport Community Church. Services will be held at 7 p.m. with Pastor Ron Lowe and Rev. Mark Stayton officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Browns Mountain Cemetery in Rogersville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Kingsport Community Church, 2316 Memorial Blvd., Kingsport, TN 37664.
