Debbie Eileen Church

Debbie Eileen Church, age 68, of Kingsport Tennessee, passed away and went to be with her Lord and savior on 2-6-2025. Born in Sullivan County, she lived most of her life in Kingsport Tenn. Debbie graduated high school at Sullivan Central High School, 1974. Debbie loved and served her Lord through helping others, domestic abuse victims, mission work in Nicaragua among other activities. She loved people and had a passion for helping others. It seemed she always brought light and hope to others even in her own darkest hours. Throughout her illness (Alzheimer’s Disease) she never wavered in her faith in her Lord and retained her passion for helping others until she could no longer do so. 

Debbie was preceded in death by her mother, Annalee Depew (Lambert) and father, Herbert J. Depew.

She is survived by her husband, Bobby Church; two brothers, Kenneth and Brian Depew; one sister, Janice Townsend; one son, David Todd Stump; two stepsons, Kenny and Michael Stump; and one stepdaughter, Penny Cochran.

In honor of Debbie and so many others like her who have their memories taken little by little and their lives turned into a constant state of fear of the future. Please donate to the Alzheimer’s Foundation in honor of Debbie instead of flowers.

I would like to thank the Hospice care giving team at Amedisys along with Yvonne Hall for the care they provided in her final days.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
