Debbie Kay Jones

Debbie Jones, 56, of Kingsport, was greeted with a rainbow by her Lord and Saviour on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at Indian Path Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

Born in Rogersville, she had been a resident of Kingsport most of her life. Debbie was a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Debbie was a loving wife, mother, nanny, daughter, aunt, and sister.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Arthur and Virginia Minor and Monta and Pearl Thurman.

Surviving are husband, Paul Tim Jones; sons, Eric Jones and wife Nicole and Josh Jones, all of Kingsport; three grandchildren, Landon Jones, Lyndsey Jones, and Alyssa Jones; parents, Reed and Agnes Minor, Kingsport; two sisters, Hope Byrd and husband Dale, Doris Williams and husband Don, all of Kingsport; three nephews, Chris Williams and wife Nekesha , Nick Williams, all of Kingsport; Jason Ledbetter, Nashville, TN; four nieces, Anita Machado and husband Esteban, Bristol, TN; Nikki Magnall and husband Dane, Denver, CO; Jana Baker and husband Mickey, Bristol, TN; and Kristin McMurray, Kingsport, TN; two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Garst and husband Ron of Chuckey, TN and Janice McMurray and husband Wayne of Kingsport.

Special thanks to the ICU staff at Indian Path Medical for their care and kind words.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will follow at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at East Lawn Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Gary Dykes, Dale Byrd, Gerald Trent, Nick Williams, Chris Williams, and Don Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Lynn Bowers, Shirley Arnold, and Betsy Dale.

Memorials may be given to the charity of one's choice.
