Dee Douglas, 93, Kingsport, passed away Tuesday evening, July 24, 2007, at Indian Path Medical Center following a brief illness.
He was born and raised in the Fordtown Community of Kingsport and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Mr. Douglas was retired from Tennessee Eastman following 42 years of service. He was a founding member of Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church, was active in the Boy Scouts Troup 48, and was an avid farmer.
His parents; one sister; and three brothers preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Mildred Burdine Douglas, Kingsport; one son, Donald Douglas and wife, Nancy, Kingsport; one granddaughter, Donna Scheleur and husband, Scott, Chesapeake Beach, Maryland; and two great-grandsons, Eric and Troy Scheleur.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Services will follow at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Alan L. Gorrell officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery at 10:45 a.m. Saturday.
Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
