Della Mae Penley Brandon

Della Mae Penley Brandon, Kingsport, was born March 20, 1941 and went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 30, 2011 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.

Della was a caregiver for thirty years. She was a member of Higher Ground Baptist Church for twelve years, where she worked in the nursery for four years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Molly Bragg; two infant daughters, Jimi Lyn and Penny Greer; a son, Ricky Greer; and husband, F. L. Brandon.

Surviving are her daughters, Debbie Lawson and husband Mack, Tammy Cole and husband Gary; son, Ronnie Penley; grandchildren, Amy, Aaron, Michelle, Nick, Jamie, Brandi, Allen, Brandon, Lacey, Kristy, Andy, Misty, Bryan, Johnathan, Brittany, and Ashley; great-grandchildren, Jason, Auston, Tanner, Nathan, McKayla, Payton, and Willow; sisters, Marie Shaw, Kathy Malone, and Reda Bragg; brother, Dusty Bragg; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport and anytime at the home of her daughter, Tammy Cole at 1208 Frank Street, Kingsport. The funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday with Rev. Robert Cole officiating.

Graveside services will be held at 12 noon Tuesday at Pine Grove Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Greene County Baileyton.

Pallbearers will be Brandon, Allen, Steve, Joe, Mac, and Scott. Honorary pallbearers will be Bryan and Chad.
