Delores Long

Delores Chapman Long, went to be with the Lord, Friday March 15th, 2019.

She was born on October 4th, 1943 in Rye Cove, VA where she graduated from Rye Cove High School. She served with her husband for 26 years as a missionary with Rock of Ages Ministries in Cleveland, TN, writing and proofreading Bible lessons for inmate, military, and church students.

She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Ellen Chapman of Rye Cove, VA.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 54 years, Dr. Charles W. Long; one daughter Katrina Hohmann, granddaughter Martika (Nathaniel) Bowen, two grandsons Ethan and Noah, three sisters Donetta (Stan) Pierce, Gwenda (Houston) Smith, Sandra (Dr. Brad) Davis of Blountville, TN, two brothers Herman Chapman and Will Chapman.

The family will receive friends from 3-7pm Monday, March 18th, 2019 at Shenandoah Baptist Church 138 Osment Rd SE, Cleveland, TN 37323. A Celebration Of Life will be held at 7pm with Dr. Terry Ellis, President of Rock of Ages Ministry, and Pastor David Gamble officiating.

The family will also receive friends Tuesday, March 19th, 2019 from 3-7pm at Bible Way Baptist Church 570 Packing House Rd, Kingsport, TN 37660. A service will follow at 7pm. 

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 20th, 2019 at 11am at Oak Hill Memorial Park in Kingsport. Those planning to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50am.
