Delores "Gerry" Morrell

Delores "Gerry" Morrell, 83, of Kingsport, passed away peacefully at Wexford House surrounded by her family on Saturday, May 17, 2014. A native of Bristol, she was the daughter of the late John Latture and Axie Beatrice Watson Morrell. When she was able she enjoyed embroidering, crocheting and playing the piano. And when able she attended Salem Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Joseph Willard Morrell and Harold Davis Morrell, and brother-in-law, Joseph Thomas Smith.

Gerry is survived by her sisters, Mary Agnes Morrell Bacon and husband, J.D., and Royce Ellen Morrell Smith; niece, Patricia "Pat" Ann Bacon Tipton and husband, Fred "Lynn" and their daughter, April Dawn Tipton Harmon and husband, Chris and their children Joanna and Dillen Harmon; and nephew, Mark Stephen Bacon and his sons, Matthew Stephen and Joseph Lucas Bacon.

A special thank you to the 200 floor and staff at Wexford House who took such wonderful and compassionate care of "Gerry" during her stay.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 2-3:00 pm at Salem Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 pm with Rev. Ray Amos, Sr., Rev. Will Shewey and Rev. Greg Fletcher officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
