Dennie O. Dishner

Dennie O. Dishner, 83, of Kingsport, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at 6:15 pm following a period of declining health. Born in Clinchport, VA on February 21, 1940, a son of the late Radford Dishner and Marie Dishner, he had resided in this area his entire life.  He graduated from Rye Cover High School in 1960 and graduated from Medical College of Virginia in 1966 with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree.  He was a practicing pharmacist/owner of Dishner’s Drug in Nickelsville, VA. Dennie married Margaret Mays on July 13, 1990.  He retired from the practice of pharmacy in 1999 following 33 years of service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Doris Hackney; and brothers, Ronnie Dishner and Gene Dishner.

Dennie is survived by his wife of 33 years, Margaret Dishner; sons, Mark Dishner and Matthew Dishner; grandchildren, Emma Dishner and Daniel Dishner; sisters, Lynda Dishner and Patsy Fritz; and sister-in-law, Betty Dishner.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.  The funeral service will follow at 12:30 pm with Rev. Steve Collins officiating.  Burial will follow in Holston View Cemetery.
