Dennis Kaye Neighbor, 64, of Jonesborough went home to be with the Lord Monday, June 9, 2008, at his home.
He was born and raised in Michigan, retired from Conway Freight in Lansing, and moved to Tennessee in January 2007. Dennis spent four years in the U. S. Navy serving during he Vietnam Era.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Elizabeth Neighbor; and one brother, Larry A. Neighbor.
Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Pamela Neighbor of the home; two daughters, Naomi Neighbor and husband Ted Clark of Hendersonville, NC, Mary Lynn Cates and husband Johnny of Jonesborough; one son, Stephen Charles Neighbor and wife Angela of Jacksonville, Florida; eleven grandchildren, Daniel, Victoria and husband Nick, Michael, Kathleen, Andrew, Angel, Samantha, Trevor, Jacob, Amanda, Stephen; one sister, Karen L. O'Malley and husband Eugene of Mason, Michigan; one brother, Bruce L. Neighbor and wife Virginia of Livonia, Michigan; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Fall Branch. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Pate officiating. Cremation will follow with military rites by Charles DeWitt Byrd Post #3382 of the VFW.
Pallbearers will be Ted Clark, Michael Quillen, Johnny Cates, Nick Broxson, Andrew Quillen, and Tim Clark. Honorary pallbearers will be Trevor Cates, Jacob Quilllen, and Stephen Neighbor.
